Join the Junior League of Poughkeepsie team at the "Relay for Life" walk Saturday May 31st - June 1st from 7am-7am at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY. All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society. Your donations are welcomed!
As a part of the Junior League of Poughkeepsie's three year initiative to reduce and prevent Childhood Obesity in the area, we are proud to offer the JLP Portable Kitchen! We travel around the area teaching children and adults of all ages how to easily prepare healthy, nutritious food.
On Thursday, February 28 Junior League members Sara Capozzoli and Darcie Giansante along with guest chef and NYS Trooper, Brian Weglinski presented a cooking demo to TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, which is a non commercial weight loss and healthy lifestyle organization that meets weekly to support and encourage others to maintain healthy lifestyles. A tasty, heart healthy meal was demonstrated in under 30 minutes using all fresh ingredients.
"Cooking for people is fun and rewarding. I’m glad I had this opportunity to use my skills in the kitchen to help other people” said Weglinski.

YMCA Family Fun Nights! Since January , we have proudly hosted and co-sponsored this event which is also part of our JLP initiative. Our last night of Family Fun is May 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 so please join us! Children and their families will enjoy activities such as swimming, rock climbing and more along with a healthy snack. Only $10.00 per family or free if you are a member of the YMCA.
